The Sun is Shining

It is very HOT outside!! Which in most cases I would be very happy about, especially in the past summers where sunshine means I would get a shift at the pool. However this particular day it was very difficult to be happy with the heat. I had to do a hill workout in the middle of the day. I am helping out the soccer team and we do training sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. I haven't done the last few sessions so I thought I should partake in this workout seeing as I am healthy again. The time we have scheduled for the workout Thursday happens to be 1pm and this hill we chose happens to have no shade at all, so with the sun glaring down on you the whole time really doesn't make the hill very fun. In the end the two of us finished with very red cheeks and high heart rates. I was very pleased with myself seeing as I haven't had a tough workout in a while and this was a great push. Next time I think I will just do it in the morning when it is cooler.

A plus side with all this good weather is my proposal for my research project is nearly done, so if I get it done in time I can have the afternoon off tomorrow to relax in the sun! Also I am sure all those forest fire fighters are happy to have the hot weather and to see lots of excitement in the forests.

This Weeks-end

So this is my first blog... I am a little new to this whole thing but I am sure in time I will get more original with posts.

Today I came into work late and left early. It is really nice not having an official time to come in and all. As long as I get what I want done in the day, I am free to set my own schedule. SO in the morning after trying to write up my research proposal and getting numb in front of the computer it was a nice break to have a cyclist come in for some testing. He thought it was appropriate to do both a wingate and VO2max. These tests aren't that pleasant to perform one after the other. However he was in good spirits and completed them with pretty nice results. These were my first tests that I set up and ran all by myself, so that was fun!
All in all a good day.

I am just listening to some new music I got from a friend, and I highly recommend it! Current Swell, I would describe them as a mix between Jack Johnson and Sublime (which of course are always a good time), so check them out!! Also they are Canadian, which makes them that much better!
